System Requirements

1

device compatibility

Your smartphone or computer must have audio and video capabilities. This allows for real-time audiovisual communication during the online session. It ensures a secure and authentic notarization process, enabling the notary to verify your identity and witness your electronic signature.

2

internet connection

A stable and reliable internet connection is essential for seamless communication and document transmission during the remote online notarization session. Please ensure that you have access to a high-speed internet connection to avoid any interruptions or delays.

Please note that these system requirements are mandated by state regulations governing remote online notarization. They are designed to ensure the security, integrity, and effectiveness of the notarization process.

How Does it Work?

Upon scheduling a session, you'll receive detailed instructions via email, including a session link.

Verification Process

01

Credential Analysis

Choose the type of identification (e.g., Driver's License or Passport) and select the issuing country if prompted. Upload or take a picture of your credentials for scanning. Successfully completing this step moves you to the next phase of verification.

02

Identity Verification

Based on your preferences or ID type, you'll encounter either Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) questions or facial recognition via biometric technology. Passing this step grants access to the notarization session to electronically sign your document(s)

03

Live Notarization

Upon passing both credential analysis and identity verification, the notarization process commences. The notary will ask to view your ID via the camera, discuss consent for electronic notarization, perform the necessary ceremony, and officially notarize your documents

Frequently Asked Questions

Will our session take place over Zoom, Teams or other meeting application?

No, I use a special platform, approved by the State of Florida, that is designed to secure and keep the notarial session confidential and prevent the document(s) from being tampered with outside of the recorded session. A link to a scheduled session is emailed directly to you from the platform.

How will you identify me remotely?

Remote Online still requires that you provide photo identification for credential analysis; however, you have the flexibility to choose between two verification methods to confirm your identity: Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) or Biometrics. KBA generates a series of questions based on public information available; of which you must get 80% correct within 2 minutes to pass. Failure to pass will result in a retake. Biometrics is required for non-US citizens and may be more appealing for younger US citizens with limited public records, or those who may find it challenging to pass KBA. Once credential analysis and identity verification is complete, you will be connected with me over a live, recorded session where I will also verify your credentials to verify your feed is live and proceed with the notarization.

How will I pay you remotely?

For remote online notarizations, I will require payment during our session usually by means of electronic payment such as Zelle, Venmo, Paypal, or Square.
